THE STORY BEHIND MAEFLOWER

It wasn’t until my last semester of college that it all came together. I was getting a degree in graphic design but didn’t truly know what I’d be doing with it after graduating. 

Those last few months of school I became very infatuated with surface pattern design, more specifically designing patterns for fabric that you’d see in Joan’s or any craft store. I also decided to take on a sewing class so I could l make clothes with my own designed fabric. 

I cannot explain the feeling I got when I sewed a skirt made out of my own floral fabric that I designed. -- Can I say it was almost like a high?

 & there it was, I decided that I wanted to combine that dream of surface pattern design and fashion design — So why not create my own brand?  

Maeflower aims to design swimwear that is equally functional as well as trending with style. We focus on comfort, support and stunning aesthetics.

We resonate with women who need modest, full coverage & extra support in their swimwear. We have been collaborating with real women to bring these ideas to life. Encouraging each of them to comment, dm and send in the personal struggles they have dealt with in swimwear. 

Currently the Market has very few brands  that cater to women who need/want bust support & full coverage. 

Maeflowers goal is to take these women’s needs  and create stunning swimwear they can feel confident in. We want moms to play in the water with their kids without feeling like they are going to fall out of their suit. We want women with bigger bodies to feel included and like they belong on the beach without needing to wear a t-shirt to cover their unsupportive swimsuit. We want women feeling secure, not needing to adjust their straps, or their bottoms every 5 seconds. We want women to focus on playing in the water, not worrying about their suit covering what they need it to. There needs to be a bridge to this gap in the market where women who have these real struggles find solutions that actually work. 

Maeflower is that bridge. We have crafted swimwear that combines unique patterns designed in house with functional swimsuit structures. We have created swimwear that mimics the support that athletic wear provides with the delicacy and trending fashion of women’s swimwear.
